Its Valentine’s season at the stores. People buy approximately 36 million boxes of Chocolate for Valentine’s Day. Approximately 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are sent each year. Over 110 million roses, most of them red, will be sold this year for Valentine’s Day.
How many of those get delivered to a Senior who hasn’t had any romance in their life, maybe for quite some time? Surprise and comfort and joy are not just a young persons language. Older adults need to be touched on a relational and spiritually loving level also.
So while you are out buying a gift for your pet like the 2 million other people who are… think about the person in your life who’s valentine has passed away. Bring them some happiness in the form of Chocolate. Slip a poem or a song their way to remind them that someone cares and is thinking of them.
