Right now over 5 million people in the United States are battling with dementia. Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias are common right here in Shiawassee County too. It is very possible someone close to you has battled with the disease.

Pat’s Place is an Adult Social Center for Memory Impairment located in Corunna MI. The clients participating with our services often visit us for a few hours a day or a couple days each week so that their caregivers can work or take time for themselves. Outside of this they often have limited social lives due to their cognitive losses, so we have organized a group called Friends of Pat’s Place to create social events for them.

Our first annual social event will also be a fundraiser. We are calling it our “Spring Fling.” Using what our clients still remember from the past we will have music and decorations from the 50’s. Dinner, dancing and a silent auction will keep us entertained.

This event will be held at the Corunna Community Center in McCurdy Park on April 19th beginning at 5pm. Tickets can be pre-purchased for $25 each at the Care N Assist office at 101 S Shiawassee St in Corunna. They will be $30 at the door. For more information please call Mike Modlin 989-723-9050 at Fifth Third Bank or Stacey Zsigo 989-666-3887 at Care N Assist.

Come dance the night away and make your donation to our non-profit 501(c)3 Friends of Pat’s Place. Our clients, who we call our “friends,” are often dependent on the generosity of others due to the financial burden that comes with their condition. “Friends of Pat’s Place” is still accepting sponsorship donations and/or items for silent auction.
